Why They Came to 42
The Faherty team knew that decision making in the apparel business needed to be fast; it is one of the few ways to get an edge on the hot competition in their space. They also wanted to learn more of what their customers wanted, not just by engaging with them, but by studying their actions across their omnichannel business through the data they gathered. For CEO Alex Faherty especially, it was also important to be able to see all their KPIs each morning in a simple, visible, and highly digestible way. Instead of spending time on pivot tables and vlookups and data aggregation, Alex wanted an automated solution to see what he needs to see, so he can use his time acting instead of searching.
The 42 Answer (To Everything)
After onboarding with 42, the Faherty team immediately saw their time spent on manual data aggregation drop precipitously, allowing them not just to allocate more time on actioning on their data, but also freeing up time to engage more directly with their customers. With 42’s suite of data visualizations and dashboards, it drastically reduced their time spent tracking, reviewing, and optimizing on the thousands of SKUs across each of their stores and online business. The Faherty team, including Alex, received automated morning emails with yesterday’s KPI data, all arranged as they wanted to see it. This helped the team get to where they wanted to be in the first place: moving faster than their competition by taking advantage of the trends they were seeing in their instance of 42.
Why They Came to 42
With 30 stores around the world, Moose Knuckles was finding it difficult to aggregate all their data, and to leverage all their historical data to fully understand their inventory movement, build assortments, replenish their stores, report on sales, and much more. Their team was also finding themselves spending too much time solely organizing the data they received from their stores and vendors. With data management taking up nearly half the time they allotted for analytics, they were frustrated with the slow progress of leveraging their data for actual purpose.
The 42 Answer (To Everything)
With 42, the Moose Knuckle team finally had a way to gather all their disparate data sources and easily manipulate views and reports to gain the insights they needed. They could see what they were selling week-to-date, season-to-date, and by category or garment type or even by color of the item. Moose Knuckle associates could trend their data from past sales to today’s conversions, and see what products were moving in other locations – like in their China location – and use those insights to push certain items at various other stores. They also no longer needed to wait for their clients or vendors to send reports in order to create up-to-date reports. 42 automatically pulled in data from each source in real-time to provide Moose Knuckle with dashboards that were always live and ready to be viewed. This saved their team all the hours they used to spend simply managing and organizing data.
